WTF Dale.

First things first.... Daaaaaallllle.

Did you really call the cops on KT to get in good with the Omega Chis? Seriously? What were you thinking?!

And furthermore.... I thought you actually 'got' the Greek system. That you actually decided to rush because of what Evan said about brotherhood. But no. If you really 'got it,' you would have picked KT. That ginger at Omega Chi didn't care you existed. Cappie and Rusty love you. You're an idiot.

And moving on. (PS: What ever happened to Katherine?)

How do I feel about Casey being ZBZ house mom?
I assume that is what you are wondering, eh?

I feel good about it. From a storyline standpoint, it is a good way to keep the Greek system relevent to Casey, and thus, keep Casey relevent to the show. And from a personal standpoint, I think it is a good way for the show to illustrate life beyond the sorority college experience. Yes, she still lives in the house, but as you see in the premiere, that relationship is different. Being a collegian is way different than being an alumni.... but it is a good kind of different. It doesn't mean you can't still care or be involved or be Greek. Trust me on this.... I'm like real life, living, breathing Casey.

And that scene where she goes in to vote and Rebecca reminds her she isn't an active member.... sad sigh.

Going Greek

This made me so so happy when it popped up in my Google Reader this morning...
Not because I like spoilers. OR because I want someone to betray Casey on Greek. I'm just excited that the show is FINALLY coming back. Love Love Love Greek

It does remind me, however, that I'm super behind on last season. I can't even remember what happened. Oops. Thank god I have an iPad so I can cozy up in bed this weekend and watch it.

GREEK in danger?!

It is no secret: I love GREEK. So I was devastated when I saw this on EW.com

Question: Is Greek really in danger of being canceled? —Lisa
Ausiello:
I heard rumblings to that effect, but it wasn’t until ABC Family basically renewed every single one of its scripted programs except Greek this week that the show’s bubble status really hit me. I’m told ABC Family execs will be looking very closely at the ratings for the show’s premiere on Jan. 25, so, please, tell everyone and your sister to watch it.

Four words.
You. Must. Watch. Greek.

It is simple. Even if you (are crazy and) never watched before, you will catch on (and fall in love) right away.

Just do it for me please.

Louie's out, OTH and Greek are in

Looks like I can finally stop watching Dancing With the Stars this season. My love, Louie Vito, was kicked off last night in a double elimination. Did he deserve to go? Probably. But now there isn't really anyone left I care about watching. Sorry, kids.
Now I can move on to more important Monday night happpenings, like Greek and One Tree Hill!
Last week on Greek, we got what we loyal fans have been waiting for for ? seasons- Cappie and Casey finally together! What could we possibly look forward to now? A musical number is coming next week, and one of the boys is going to rap.

And OTH finally ended its baby-momma-drama, when Dan outted Renee on his talk show. Next week, the boys go camping, the girls bond, and Quinn and Clay get closer. Oh yeah, and we finally get to find out more about Dan and Rachel's 'relationship.'

At last, my monday night belongs to the scripted series again!

9.22.2009

Will Greek ever win an Emmy for its writing?

No, probably not. But it should! Here are my favorite quotes from Monday's episode of the funniest 'teen' show on television:
"Are we having a garage sale for the Lord?"
-Rusty to Dale when he sees his roommate packing up all his religious paraphernalia

"Your closet is huge. You could fit a person in there!"
-Whitney, Grant's 'girlfriend' to him and his gay boyfriend Calvin

"Geez Ash, if you vibe on that guy any harder you're going to get pregnant."
-Casey to the desperately single Ashley

"Awkward like that?"
-Ashley to Casey after her less then clever response to ex Cappie

"That's weird, my Nana usually sends me money for my birthday"
-Rusty as he opens his male at Kappa Tau (anyone who has lived in a sorority/fraternity house knows the feeling)

"I come from a long line of seaman.. That came out wrong."
-Rusty trying to explain his 'Anchor' nickname

"Live long and prospect."
-Casey, trying to quote Star Trek. Good effort.

(singing) "And that star will be called Rusty."
-Rusty, being adorable

"No one uses embossed wrapping paper unless they want to get in someones pants."
-Rebecca to Calvin, revealing his true feelings for Grant

"Karaoke, that's a fun word to say.", "It's like a furnace.", "Did you ever notice how many cats are in this house?", "She may be afraid of trees but when push comes to shove, she doesn't let you drink the shampoo. No matter how good it smells."
-and pretty much every other thing Casey and Evan said while they were high

Yes, Casey and Evan got high. And, tell me again, why is this show categorized as a teen show?

The Day After... the Greek premiere

Ah, it's like being in college again. Greek started up again and here is how our friends at Cyprus Rhodes are recovering the day after the 'End of the World' party...

PS If you didn't watch it, maybe stop reading.
First of all I love love love Rusty. Can he be my boyfriend please? Rusty was in sad puppy overload last night- his BFF Max moved off to England (aka The Beautiful Life on CW) without saying goodbye, and thus, couldn't help him get in the chem lab to finish his project so he wouldn't get kicked out of the honors program :( Luckily, with some convincing from Jordan, big sis Casey comes to save the day...

(And speaking of Casey, how sad was she last night? Dumped her boyfriend, told Cap she loved him, got rejected, and then stuffed her face back at ZBZ.)

Anyway, so there they are- Rusty and Casey- trying to get in the chem lab and discussing the Max and Casey breakup. And just as Casey says, "Sometimes they don't show up," obviously referring to Cappie not coming to her side the night before, guess who shows up? Oh yes...

Meanwhile... Evan is poor, and Rebecca is using him as a cover for the mystery man she made out with the night before. Who's the (un)lucky guy? You guessed it, none other than kitchen boy Fisher. Yep, the one who is dating Ashleigh. Yep, Ashleigh who is, like totally, new BFF with Rebecca. Whoopsie daisy.

And holy six pack. Calvin and Grant are going to try to make things work between them, and slow things down physically.

Oh and Dale is listening to the gospel to try and repent for his unholy actions from the night before. And then proposes to his landlord/cougar lover. Bold move. (She said no).

But back to the real story...

After some drama in the chem lab (things breaking, awkward convos, Cap saving the day again), Casey and Cappie (but mostly just Casey) come to the agreement that they should be 'just friends' (yeah, okay...).

And then, at the end of the episode you get to flashback and see what really happened after the 'world ended' the night before. Turns out Mr. Knight-in-shining-armor Cappie was going to go work things out with Casey, but Evan stopped him. Looks like we get another season of Evan-Cappie-Casey triangles. :(

Get yo' GREEK on

The season premiere of Greek is less than a week away (yey!) and I am so psyched. I used to sit in my sorority house and watch this show with all my 'sisters' but now that I am not going back to school (don't graduate!), I will have to relive the college experience through my friends at Cyprus Rhodes!

Warning this post contains spoilers.. and lots of them.

'The Day After'

The premiere picks up right where we left off, the morning after KT's End of the World Party. Cappie may have told Casey he wasn't interested, but that was before he knew about Max's departure. Will he change his mind now? Sources say we will get some resolution to the Cap/Case drama in the very first episode (!), but I doubt whatever they 'resolve' in the premiere will change thru the season. Rebecca's actions at the party will leave her trying to mend a relationship with someone she really cares about, or atleast trying to. Rusty is in trouble- failing organic chem and losing his honors status! eek! Dale might end up gettin' some cougar lovin'. Ashleigh and kitchen-boy Fischer's relationship gets rocky.

And coming up this season:
Dad's Weekend.
Casey v. Ashleigh catfight
ZBZ is not top dog on Greek row anymore
Rebecca realizes she is in college and just wants to 'have fun' (does that mean she will be more skanky than before? If that's even possible)
Evan and Cap trying to be friends
Love triangles with new hot waitress
Dale and Rusty going to a new level of friendship
Calvin in love? Maybe.
Thanksgiving break.
A Kappa Tau-Omega Chi confrontation in the season finale.

Go GREEK on August 31st on ABC Family.

Fall Schedule!

So all this week I have been adding fall premiere dates to my calendar and it is starting to get overwhelming! These are just the shows I want to watch (I guess my HIMYM love will have to be pushed off for hiatus’. I just don’t have time!)

Sunday, 8/9
ABDC, MTV 8pm

Sunday, 8/16
Mad Men, AMC 9pm

Monday, 8/31
Greek, ABC Family 8pm

Wednesday, 9/9
Glee, Fox 8pm

Monday, 9/14
OTH, CW 7pm

Thursday, 9/17
Community, NBC 8:30pm
Fringe, Fox 8pm

Monday, 9/21
DWTS, ABC 7pm

Thursday, 9/24
Flashforward, ABC 7pm
Grey’s, ABC 8pm

Sunday, 9/27
Brothers and Sisters, ABC 9pm
Desperate Housewives, ABC 8pm
Dexter, Showtime 8pm

So you might be thinking, “Geez, Danielle. How in the world am I going to make this work?” Well, I will tell you. This is what I suggest.

Mondays
Watch OTH at 7, followed by Greek at 8pm. DVR or catch DWTS online in time for the results shows on Tuesdays. CW and ABC Family both have sucky video players and it is hard to find episodes online.

Tuesdays
DWTS day. I never cared much about the results show, but you can watch the show from the night before on DVR or online before you find out who gets kicked off!

Wednesdays
Have a nice peaceful evening with Glee at 8pm. Oh, and catch up from some of that leftover Sunday television!

Thursdays
I’ll give first preference to the new shows- Flashforward at 7pm and Community at 8:30pm because they will need the ratings to survive. Although, that does give you an awkward half hour break… sheesh. If you have to watch one thing that night pick Grey’s at 8pm because it is by far the most popular and what people will be talking about. DVR Fringe or watch it online. It has too much suspense for commercials anyway!

Sundays
Personally, I am watching ABDC at 8pm, followed by Brothers and Sisters at 9pm. I love Desperate but MTV’s video player is so slow. I can easily find Desperate online somewhere. The same goes for cable shows Mad Men and Dexter. Catch them later in the week.

Hope you weren’t planning to have a life this fall!

edge of my seat... watching Greek?

Yes, that is right. This week's episode of Greek had me on the edge of my seat at the end. Casey and Max forever! Soooo adorable.

I  just love Max. His only flaw is that he isn't the typical 'frat' guy. ZBZ is obviously a huge part of Casey's life, and it will probably be tough for her to be with a guy who doesn't understand that. I predict lots of fights on this subject in the future, but I hope they work it out and stay together! Max is just what Casey needs! Cappie and Evan step aside...

9.09.2008

Casey and Max forever!

Okay, so first I was all about Casey and Cappie. Then, I switched to the Casey-Evan romance. They even had me last week a little with Casey and the hotness monster. But now, I am all about Max and Casey. You know, Max, that adorable, yet oddly mysterious RA. Of course, hot Max would show up just in time for the newly single Cappie to start thinking about Casey again as well as the very much not single Evan Chambers to start eyeing the girl who he would 'go off the map' for.

Here is what we 'know' about our resident hottie:

1. He is hot.
2. He dresses like he is going to 'climb a mountain.'
3. He isn't a great RA.
4. He stays in his room a lot, yet doesn't unpack his stuff out of boxes (hmm sounds like someone I know...).
5. He may or may not have worked for NASA.
6. He is super smart.
7. He knows how to count cards.
8. He is hot (what? It deserved to be on the list twice).

Seriously folks, what is he hiding? Any thoughts? Please share with me...

9.04.2008

thoughts on this week's Greek

Greek on ABC Family
Episode 2

My thoughts?

Frannie seemed more human than Casey for once... weird. I feel kind of bad for her, because it seems like Evan and her actually like each other and aren't just doing it to piss off Casey.

The hotness monster is hot. And funny. And a good actor. And I think that he doesn't even know who Ashley is and Casey should keep dating him. I know she says she won't, but I hope this isn't the last we see of the monster.

And finally, that RA is smokin'. Maybe it's just me because I like smart (i.e. maybe nerdy?) guys that may have once, or could possibly in the future, work for NASA. But I feel like something fishy is going on with him...

Either way, smokin'.

And fun fact- both of these guys (hotness monster and the RA, aka Drew and Max) starred in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2as Leo and Kostos.

Go GREEK!

Here I am- back in the full swing of things at the first week of school. And what better way to celebrate the return to college life? With the premiere of Greek of course!

Watched it this morning (DVR is the most glorious invention, don't ya think?), and sadly, was a bit underwhelmed. I still love it and will still watch it, but thought it dragged a bit. I did cry a little though (I know, weird, it's this new thing that keeps happening to me) when Casey made the whole 'I found a family' speech to Rebecca. You could say my situation here at MU is similar (just a bit) to Casey's/Kappie's/Evan's, and I am noticing now more than ever how much I relate to them. Sounds sappy, but I was proud of most the characters this episode- Casey, Ashley, Kappie, Rusty, Dale, even Rebecca. Well done, kids.

5.05.2008

Mondays, Sundays, Thursdays...my week is a blur.

Thoughts on my fave shows from last week…

Greek: This show seriously keeps getting better and better! I haven’t written about it in a couple weeks (mainly because I can never watch it until the weekend), but it has been great! The last two weeks have been really great. I loved the flashbacks in the episode from two weeks ago. It seriously changed my opinion of the Cappie/Casey/Evan triangle. I have always been a Cappie lover, but after the last two weeks, I’ll admit it, I am rooting for Casey and Evan to get back together!

DWTS: So happy that Shannon Elizabeth got kicked off. Who’s next? Probably Marisa or Christian. And this week is the 100th episode two-night event- meaning that tomorrow a ton of DWTS alums will be back!

Gossip Girl: I’m having trouble getting back into it since the break… maybe I’m just sick of the same old stories- Chuck is a jerk, Blaire fights to keep her spot, Jenny wants to be cool, Serena did something one time and got in trouble… I’m bored.

Grey’s Anatomy: I was telling someone, “Yeah, this week’s episode was actually really good,” and their response was, “duh- Addison was back.” And that’s when it hit me. I haven’t really liked the show since she left. Here’s hoping Private Practice gets cancelled and she returns to Seattle Grace where she belongs. Favorite scene of the night- Mark’s reaction to seeing Derek, Addison, Rose, and Meredith all in the elevator. Oh, McSteamy, you make me laugh.
Lost: Loved this week’s episode. Actually, at first, I hated it. Kate and Jack’s future bliss made me sick. But then, you find out that Sawyer is still complicating things. Yes! The scene at the end totally made it for me. There is nothing Jack can do- it doesn’t matter that he is there now, or that he saved her- Kate loves Sawyer, and no matter where Sawyer is (or even if he is still alive), that won’t change. It almost made me feel sorry for Jack. Almost. And how ‘bout that scene when Jack picks up Kate in the hallway? Looks a lot like Sawyer picking her up in the cages if you ask me….

Brothers & Sisters: Awesome episode. I know next week is supposed to be amazing, so I cannot wait! My thoughts from last night- poor Saul, poor Rebecca, poor Justin, poor Sarah, poor Graham, and Holly is such a bitch taking over the company when it isn’t rightfully hers. Oh, and yeah for Scotty and Kevin! That scene was adorable!

Another reason to hate Mondays

We all hate Mondays. That is pretty much a given. Back to school, back to class, back to meetings, no more fun. At least there is good TV though, right? RIGHT! Problem is- there is too much good TV on Mondays!

Greek (7pm, ABC Family)
Gossip Girl (7pm, CW)
One Tree Hill (8pm, CW)
The Hills (9pm, MTV)

Who wants to buy me TiVo?

4.01.2008

Back from break and ready for TV time!

Man, spring break was a killer for my blogs! Can you believe my resort did not have free wireless in the rooms?

Anyway, in the last couple of weeks things have been shuffled around quite a bit. We saw the midseason finales of my beloved One Tree Hill, LostAmerica’s Best Dance Crew, and the Gauntlet. On the other hand, we gained Dancing with the Stars, The Hills, Greek, and the one-time fave Gauntlet Reunion. Some thoughts-

America’s Best Dance Crew
Happy or not? I’m not. I was so rooting for Status Quo to win, but apparently I was the only one. Of all my friends who watch, they all wanted JabbaWockeez and gave me very puzzled looks when I said I liked my Quo boys better. Here is why-
Showmanship: While Jabba’s masks and gloves give cool illusions, I can’t see how much fun they are having out there, even though they probably are. When Status Quo dances they look like they are having so much fun, I really do want to get out there and dance too.
Stunts: I’ve seen Jabba do some break dancing, but nothing like the stunts Status Quo does. My thing is, yeah Jabba makes up cool dances, but if they taught those to Status Quo, they could do them too. But if Jabba had to do a human jump robe? I don’t think they could pull it off.
Oh well, now I’m just waiting for Season 2 and hopefully a Season 1 tour. What do you think Mr. Jackson?

Gauntlet III Finale and Reunion Show
Don’t even get me started on this one. Geez. I could write all day about this finale, but I will just say that I wish the Rookies had lost. The Vets should have ‘trimmed the fat’ and got rid of Eric in the beginning if they thought he would be such a hindrance in the final mission. Hindsight’s a bitch I guess.

As for the Reunion show? Brilliant. Why isn’t this show on all year long? For something that bothered me all season long, the couple’s news was probably the highlight of the enchanted evening with our favorite cast members.

Frank and Jillian living together. Brad and Tori spending a lot of time together. Derrick and Paula? Not so much. CT and Diem, according to Katie, are very ‘done’. Wes and Johanna split up as well. Danny and Melinda? They didn’t mention them, but I’m assuming they are together. When asked about Casey and Bananas, the cast just laughed. The best though? While Ev and Brooke are obviously not together, the host asked Ev about a rumor that Brooke was dating one of her ex-girlfriends, and Ev (looking very pissed off) said she didn’t want to talk about it. Ha!

Oh and Evan and Kenny? Still very much BFFs, and still very hot. Sad that they don’t talk to Big Easy any more, but still. Evan, if you are out there and reading this (unlikely), I am pretty sure if you met me we would fall in love. Just sayin’.

Dancing with the Stars
Already kicked off- the magician and the tennis player. I’m surprised at how well Priscilla and Christian are doing. My fave so far though? This deserves drum rolls and lights and lasers and smoke… Jason Taylor. Holy cow. He is hot. I know it is still early but I want him and Edyta to win.

The Hills
This season premiere stressed me out. Not following iteniary, wearing an expensive dress you didn’t pay for out the night before you are supposed to wear it, burning that dress and noticing it only an hour before you were supposed to wear it, then getting a second dress and wearing it on a motorcycle?! Someone please stop her!

And here is why I am confused. Lauren was in Paris for like a week. Seriously, one week, and Brody has a new ‘girlfriend’. That was fast? But wait- does he even have a girlfriend? I don’t think so. Last night, he was psyched to see Lauren and she was a total bitch. I think the girlfriend thing is a misunderstanding.

Also, as much as I have been anti-Spencer, can these two please just get back together? They were less annoying as a couple than they are apart.

Greek
Finally! I love this show and am so happy it is back! I missed the season premiere and my internet is so slow I can’t even stand to try and watch it, but I had a friend fill me in before last night’s episode.

Does anyone else notice how good everyone on the show looks? Last night, Casey was like
glowing in that teal dress. And Cappie did something with his hair. Or maybe lost weight. I don’t know. And Evan? Wow, he looks hot. They must have given everyone makeovers or something.

In couples news, Jen K. should not have broke Rusty’s heart like that. I love Rusty. Also, Cappie needs to dump Rebecca and go for Casey. I was hoping for a hook up last night, but will have to wait. Next week perhaps?

Rotten Eggs!

Spoilers. Rotten eggs spoil. Get it? Get it?

Lost
As if it isn’t bad enough that I can’t watch Lost on Thursdays like everyone else (I just now caught last week’s), I’m hearing that this week will be a doozey! Cynthia Watros (aka Libby) and Harold Perrineau (aka “Where’s my boy” Michael) return, and according to Sun herself, this week is when we find out who the other Oceanic Six members are.  Also hearing rumors of a funeral…

One Tree Hill

I know a lot of rumors are going around as to the fate of the Peyton-Lucas-Lindsey triangle, but it isn’t looking good for all the Peyton lovers out there. Although Lucas and Lindsey hit a snag, rumor is his feelings for her go deeper than we (Peyton lovers, at least) hoped. Interesting twist though- I hear that Brooke is the one urging Peyton to stop the wedding. What’s scarier than a Peyton-Lindsey showdown? Dan making his way to the church and nanny Carrie deciding Jamie is better off with her…uh oh spaghetti-oh.

Gossip Girl

When we left of beloved Upper East siders, Blair was at the bottom of the social ladder, and I hear she will be climbing her way back up. But first, she is ditched by five former friends for a little din-din outing. Any guesses on who the five are? Gossip Girl is returning to the CW on April 21st.

Greek

The new season of Greek starts on March 24th on ABC Family. Casey and the other ZBZ girls are still feeling the drama of the Jen K crisis. Even better? They have a consultant from their nationals ‘helping’ them through the transition. And as if it wasn’t stressful enough being president of the sorority that ‘ruined’ greek life, Casey has Rebecca and Frannie to deal with still. But what about the relationships? Rebecca and Cappie? Casey and Evan? Rusty and Jen K? I'm dying to see...
